Role: Legal Officer
Location: Ikeja - Lagos
Salary: NGN 200,000
Candidate must live around Ikeja or its environs for proximity.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal Advisory Services:
- Provide sound legal advice to management and departments on a variety of legal and compliance issues.
- Interpret and explain legal procedures, rulings, and regulations to the company.
- Drafting and Reviewing Documents:
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Ensure all contracts comply with applicable laws and protect the companys interests.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and government policies affecting the construction industry.
- Dispute Resolution:
- Handle legal disputes, including liaising with external counsel when necessary.
- Represent the company in court or other dispute resolution forums as needed.
- Document Management:
- Maintain organized records of all legal documents and correspondence.
- Establish and manage a legal filing system for easy access and retrieval of documents.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential legal risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them.
- Conduct periodic legal audits to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
- A Bachelors degree in Law (LLB) and a minimum of 2 years of legal practice experience.
- Must have been called to the Nigerian Bar (BL).
- Strong knowledge of corporate and contract law, particularly in the construction industry.
- Excellent research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must live around Ikeja or nearby areas.
