Job Title: Head of Voice Carrier Business (Retail IDD & Wholesale)Unit: Gateway CarrierJob Objective:Efficiently run and manage the retail IDD and wholesale voice carrier business to increase revenue, margins, and collections while driving strategic decision-making for enhanced business performance. Assume full responsibility for the profitability of the voice (IDD & Wholesale) business.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Growth & Strategic Account Management:
- Develop and maintain executive and strategic relationships to promote the companys suite of voice-focused products.
- Achieve sales targets and grow the wholesale voice margin across key accounts.
- Develop and execute structured account development plans and contract strategies, including revenue deals.
Profitability & Financial Management:
- Drive commercial and contract negotiations to maximize carrier business profitability.
- Continuously reduce termination and transmission costs through effective trading and cost adjustments.
- Ensure adherence to pricing processes while proactively monitoring inbound traffic to identify and resolve irregular patterns.
- Meet or exceed budgeted revenue, margin, and collection targets for the Voice Carrier business.
Operational Excellence:
- Ensure timely completion of operational activities and streamline processes for improved efficiency.
- Implement fraud management tools and methodologies in collaboration with the Revenue Assurance Department.
- Ensure routing profitability by sourcing least-cost and effective routes.
Product Development & Marketing:
- Collaborate with marketing to create competitive IDD value propositions for retail customers.
- Lead product development and management for both pre-paid and post-paid offerings.
- Develop and execute pricing and strategy management for both retail and wholesale segments.
Team Leadership & Performance Management:
- Manage and mentor team members to achieve set targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure efficient team management through performance evaluation and development initiatives.
Interconnect & Contract Management:
- Oversee contract reviews and business terms negotiations to ensure favorable outcomes.
- Support the international voice sales team in marketing and customer engagement initiatives.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Achievement of AOP revenue targets for Voice Carrier Wholesale & Retail business.
- Achievement of AOP margin targets for Voice Carrier Wholesale & Retail business.
- Attainment of AOP collection targets for the Voice Carrier Wholesale business.
- Vendor performance evaluation against agreed SLAs and costs.
- Fraud management efficiency on the companys network.
- Effective team performance and KPI alignment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in telecommunications, preferably with a carrier or operator.
- Strong expertise in the international telecom business with a focus on the carrier and wholesale segment.
- Proven track record in managing revenue and profit responsibilities for carrier operations.
- Educational Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor teams.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
