Job Title: Sales/Customer Service Officer

Reports to: Operations Lead
Job Summary:
The Sales/Customer Service Officer will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, driving sales, and fostering positive relationships with clients. You will be the first point of contact for potential and existing customers, guiding them through product offerings, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues. Your role will include upselling and cross-selling to meet sales targets while ensuring customers have a positive experience at every touchpoint.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Support & Consultation:
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate products and services.
- Drive sales by actively upselling and cross-selling to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Provide detailed product knowledge to customers, highlighting benefits and features to assist in decision-making. Assist customers in navigating the purchasing process, including helping with order placement, product availability, and pricing information.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers, providing support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, chat, or other communication channels in a timely and professional manner. Resolve customer complaints and concerns effectively, aiming for a positive resolution while maintaining a focus on company policies.
- Order Management & Processing:
- Process customer orders and ensure accuracy in order entry, payment processing, and delivery schedules.
- Work closely with other departments (e.g., logistics, inventory, and finance) to ensure smooth order fulfillment. Track customer orders and provide status updates as necessary.
- Sales Performance & Reporting:
- Meet or exceed individual sales targets and KPIs set by management.
- Maintain up-to-date records of customer interactions, transactions, and sales in CRM systems. Regularly review sales performance and contribute ideas for improving sales processes and customer satisfaction.
- Collaboration & Teamwork :
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and consistent customer experience. Participate in regular training sessions to stay up-to-date on product knowledge, sales strategies, and customer service best practices.
Qualifications:
- HND, Bachelors degrees in a related course is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales and/or customer service.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Experience with CRM software or customer service platforms is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Exceptional customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to sales and customer support.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and a team player.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace Experience with sales and customer support software (e.g., CRM tools) is a plus.
