We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, accounting practices, and compliance, with the ability to contribute to the companys financial growth and stability.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management and Reporting

• Prepare, analyze, and present accurate financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial planning to support strategic decision-making.
• Monitor the organizations financial performance and ensure alignment with established targets.

Accounting Operations

• Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure its accuracy and completeness.

Compliance and Taxation

• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and statutory audits.
• Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for tax purposes.

Cost and Expense Management

• Review company expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend improvements to financial efficiency.
• Implement controls to monitor and minimize operational expenses.

Process Improvement

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in financial regulations.

Collaboration and Support

• Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Train and guide junior staff in financial processes and systems where necessary.

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification such as Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), or The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN) certification is highly desirable.

Experience

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a media, creative, or fast-paced environment.
• Strong experience with accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar).

Skills and Competencies

• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
